The Graft

Nick Leary couldn't pinpoint the exact reason for his insomnia that night. It could have been the sweltering temperatures or distant thunder, but it's possible that it was due to his busy thoughts. Perhaps he was pondering his successful business in Essex, or his two young sons sleeping in the adjacent room. Or maybe it was simply the sound of his wife's steady breathing next to him. No matter the cause, when Nick heard footsteps downstairs, his immediate response was to defend. This was his natural instinct, to protect the most cherished aspects of his life: his family, his privacy, and his reputation. He had worked tirelessly for these treasures and wasn't going to let anyone jeopardize them now. However, there's a chance that Nick's instinct could be proven wrong, and this event could be the beginning of something he can't control.
