Nicolas and Alex, two widowed fathers in the midst of impending war, lead peaceful lives until a long-hidden truth about Nicolas's family endangers their safety. To escape Europe, they must leave behind everything except eight exceptional horses, two of which are gifted Lipizzaners from Alex. These creatures become their lifeline in America, securing Nicolas a job at Ringling Brothers Circus where the majestic white stallion, Pegasus, becomes the star of the show and captures Nicolas's heart. However, as the war rages on, Nicolas struggles to adjust to their new life while Alex and his daughter face increasing danger in their homeland. With tragedy striking on both sides of the ocean, the fate of each family hangs in the balance.
